This privacy policy describes how mmnts ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application (the "App").

When you use mmnts, we collect:

• Account information: your username, email address, password (stored as a hash), display name, and bio.
• Content you create: photos, captions, and locations you choose to add to posts and messages.
• Profile photo: if you choose to upload an avatar.
• Connections: who you follow, who follows you, and pending follow requests.
• Device tokens: push notification tokens used to deliver alerts to your device.
• Usage data: basic technical information needed to operate the App, such as your device type and timestamps of activity.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Operate and maintain the App.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Deliver content to people you've connected with.
• Send push notifications about activity related to you.
• Send password reset emails when requested.
• Respond to reports and enforce our community standards.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Your content is only visible to people you've connected with. We share limited data with the following service providers, who help us operate the App:

• Backblaze B2: file storage for photos and avatars.
• Neon: database hosting.
• Railway: backend hosting.
• Expo Push Notifications: push notification delivery.
• Resend: transactional email delivery.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or if necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of mmnts, our users, or others.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently remove your account data, posts, messages, and uploaded files. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited time before being purged.

Your Rights

You can:

• Edit your profile and posts at any time within the App.
• Delete individual posts at any time.
• Delete your account, which permanently removes your data, from within the App's settings.
• Block or report other users.
• Contact us to request access to or deletion of your personal information.

Children's Privacy

mmnts is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), password hashing, and authenticated API access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
